Free Shipping Policy
Most on-line t-shirt companies make more money shipping their shirts than they do selling their shirts, but The Ironic T-Shirt Corporation is a different kind of company and we think that it's possible to run a successful business without exploiting our customers. (What is "handling" anyway?) The Ironic T-Shirt Corporation offers free, real shipping on all orders and there are no catches.
Here's how it works. Our business is located in Boulder, Colorado and when you choose the free shipping option we're going to mail you your purchase through the United States Postal Service, via either First-class mail, Parcel-post, or Priority Mail, depending on the package's size and weight. If you choose to pay an extra $5 for "Guaranteed 2-3 day delivery" we're going to mail it to you through UPS Ground, FedEx Ground, or USPS's Priority mail.
Shipping is an issue for on-line companies because it's expensive, but it's not super complicated. Here's a quick summary of the 5 different shipping options we have at our disposal:
- United States Postal Service First-class mail
Inexpensive and fast (Overall, a great option for us. The problem is that the mailing must be flat and it can't weigh too much.) - United States Postal Service Parcel-post
Relatively inexpensive but slow - United States Postal Service Priority Mail
Relatively expensive and fast - UPS Ground
Expensive and relatively fast - FedEx Ground
Expensive and relatively fast
Okay, so should you choose Free Shipping or pay $5 extra for expedited delivery?
Here's the secret: Customers with light or flat orders (really anything other than t-shirts) should chose the Free Shipping because we'll be able to use First-class mail and you'll get your order within a few days. Customers with heavy or bulky orders such as t-shirts need to weigh the benefits of expedited shipping versus its $5 cost. The Free Shipping for heavier and bulkier orders is Parcel Post, which is not as fast as First Class mail.
When you look at the chart below please remember that Parcel Post and First-Class Mail represent our Free Shipping options and Priority mail, UPS Ground, or FedEx Ground are how we are going to ship expedited deliveries. Don't worry about choosing the specific form of shipping - choose either the free or expedited shipping and we'll decide which specific option makes the most sense and gets you your order the fastest. And after we ship your order we'll send you an e-mail specifying which method we used so you'll know when and how to expect it.

What else? We lied, we know what handling is. Our goal is to ship orders within 24 hours of receiving them. Also, be assured that we purchase Delivery Confirmation on all orders we ship through the USPS so there should be no issues with you receiving your orders.
Also, if shipping to your workplace or college postal address is an option, please choose it. Commercial postal carriers such as UPS and FedEx charge businesses such as ours more money to ship to peoples' residences than their places of business. So if you have the option of having your order shipped to your place of business please do so. This will help us be able to continue our Free Shipping Policy. Also, please be honest. If UPS or FedEx delivers the order to your home after we purchase the less expensive delivery to a business they will simply change the difference to our account. And FYI, a college postal address is considered a business address by these companies, so shipping to your college address is great for us (and great for you :)
We can ship to Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. We can also ship first-class international mail to Canada. We aren't, however, ready to ship individual orders internationally to countries other than Canada, but we're working on setting this up ASAP. If you're shipping to Canada please choose the free-shipping option because expedited international shipping is neither affordable nor expedited.
